About
The Olympics are kind of the pinnacle of all things crazy/fun at SCMR. It spawned from...well I have no idea, really. Who knows what I was eating that day. Either way, the first annual Olympics were a big hit amongst everyone who participated (and we did have a big turn out! =D) and it continued on to the next year. However, the original SCM only got to experience two Olympics before it fell into the great web abyss. But now it is back and crazier than ever. And hopefully we can make it ever more fun!
When you register, you will choose which Team you want to be on. Teams are separated by senshi, and are turn named after their decks at SCMR. (So if your mascot is Usagi, you are on the Pink team). This year only senshi decks will be used. Teams are comprised of 5-6 members, ideally, and each team converses through e-mail and/or the SCMR Forums. (They are each granted their own private category, accessed through a password.) Each Team is designated with a captain, and it is up to the captain to remain consistently active and submit entries on behalf of the Team.
Events are presented on a weekly basis. Teams have a total of 1-2 weeks to complete their task and submit it to the game. At the end of the submission period, entries are either judged or scores are tallied. The top Team wins the Gold prize, the second Silver, and Bronze goes to third. These p33ps receive trophies, as well as gold, silver, and bronze cards. Other prizes will be rewarded as well. Games range in a balance from graphic oriented, to other skills such as writing, and even just plain luck. Anything is possible!
Rules
The rules are pretty simple and straight-forward.
- Please be courteous to other Teams. While Self-Team-Spirit is awesome, no one wants to be made to feel like crap because they're on a different team. ='(
- Sharing secrets/entries between Teams will be strictly forbidden until after that certain event is over. The only people who should be involved with all of the entries are myself, and any unparticipating members who will serve as co-judges/moderators. Besides, even if you're best friends with somebody on another team, I don't think your teammates would appreciate it much!
- Cheating will be treated with pitchforks and fish bowls.
- If you know you are going to be MIA from your team beforehand, please let both them and myself know. This can be done through your Team board.
- Your Team is counting on you! Even if you find that you don't have much time to participate/do tasks beyond being supportive and helping choose your team's entries to submit, that's okay! Teams are a group effort: if you win, your whole Team wins. Make sure you deserve the prize as well!
